Questions people ask

How much does Etsy take per sale?

Etsy charges three fees per sale: a 6.5% transaction fee on item price plus shipping, payment processing of 3% plus $0.25 (US), and a flat $0.20 listing fee. On a $25.00 item with $5.00 shipping that is $3.30 in fees, leaving you $26.70.

How do I calculate Etsy fees?

Add item price and shipping to get the gross, then take 6.5% of it for the transaction fee, add 3% of the gross plus $0.25 for payment processing, and add the $0.20 listing fee. Total fees are the sum of the three; your net is the gross minus that total.

Does Etsy charge a listing fee even if it does not sell?

Yes. The $0.20 listing fee is charged when you publish a listing, whether or not it sells, and it renews automatically every four months (or when the item sells) unless you turn off auto-renew. So a listing that never sells still costs you $0.20 each renewal.
