What is the difference between UPC-A and EAN-13?

UPC-A is the 12-digit North American retail barcode; EAN-13 is its 13-digit international superset. A UPC-A number is an EAN-13 with a leading zero, and modern scanners read both.

Can I sell with a barcode I generated here?

The image will scan, but retailers require a UPC assigned to you through GS1. This tool produces the barcode graphic, not a registered product number.
